Kyla Sledge grew up in Goldthwaite, Texas, and began her career in real estate soon after high school at the Mills County Appraisal District. During that time, she was invited by attorney Tom Duren, owner of Mills County Abstract & Title Company, to join the local title office. That opportunity sparked her passion for title insurance and laid the foundation for what has become a lifelong career.
In those early years, Kyla gained hands-on experience in every aspect of the business—preparing closing statements, funding files, drafting legal documents, and assisting with title examinations. This training gave her a strong foundation and fueled her drive to master the industry.
Over the next four decades, Kyla pursued that goal with dedication. Today, she brings more than 40 years of expertise in title insurance, specializing in residential, commercial, and farm & ranch transactions. As a licensed Escrow Officer for over 35 years, she has developed a deep understanding of closings, compliance, and regulatory requirements. Her knowledge and problem-solving skills allow her to guide even the most complex transactions with accuracy and confidence.
Kyla is also highly proficient in industry software and skilled in preparing Closing Disclosures, HUD statements, Title Commitments, and Title Policies. She is known for her attention to detail, organizational strength, and ability to anticipate and resolve potential challenges before they arise.
Beyond her technical expertise, Kyla values the relationships she has built with clients, lenders, attorneys, and real estate professionals over the years—many of which have lasted decades. She takes pride in providing a seamless, trustworthy experience and guiding clients with care through each step of the closing process.
For Kyla, each closing is more than a transaction—it’s an opportunity to help clients achieve their real estate goals while sharing the knowledge she’s gained throughout her career. Her passion for the industry remains as strong today as when she first began.
